2025 KTG (Knowledge Transfer Group) run by the NEFG with funding from DAFM

20 Forest Owners took part this year. The course ran for 7 weeks and included classroom and practical tuition in local forests led by the highly knowledgable and experienced Mr. Jim Crowley, and supported by guest speakers covering a wide range of practical topics. A big ‘Thank You’ to all of them.

The KTG contributes to enhancing the level of forest management among the participating Forest Owners. Each week there was active engagement and open discussion on a wide range of forestry related issues, ensuring maximum benefit gained by all who took part. Feedback was very positive and an average attendance rate of 84% just says it all.

The KTG is funded by the DAFM and expenses of €80 per session attended are paid to each attendee, subject to terms and conditions.

Thank you to those within the club who helped to organise and run this KTG, including John Sherlock, Peter Farrelly and Anne White.

The NEFG is advocating that future KTGs incorporate Next Generation Forest Owners as eligible nominees to ensure continuity and sustainability within the sector
