Launch Event of Irish Sawmillers Guild

Friday March 13th at 11am in Gainstown, Navan, Co. Meath C15 HX82

The NEFG, with funding from the DAFM, have set up the Irish Sawmillers Guild to bring together the many forest owners in Ireland who have purchased mobile sawmills to process some of their own timber. For these 2 weeks leading up to the launch day on Friday James Thomson of Thomson Timber in Scotland has been tutoring 8 participants in a full time Post & Beam Course on the premises in Gainstown.

They are building a Post and Beam cabin and on Friday the attendees will see the final stage of this construction combined with a talk from James Thomson.

Also on Friday Roland Flower, main agent for Logosol  Sawmills, will give a demonstration on a mobile sawmill. Conor Coogan AKA The Bearded Man will be giving a working demonstration of machining Irish timber on a CNC router doing some signage.

A panel of speakers and refreshments completes the package. It promises to be a very informative few hours and all are welcome.
